Financial Planning

Financial planning entails a highly customized, detailed and comprehensive evaluation of your cash flows over your lifetime with an aim of fulfilling your monetary goals. It takes your current financial position into consideration, forecasts your future income and expenses, projects the money required to attain your goals and consolidates all of these to help you understand how financially strong you are. Via the financial planning exercise, I help you answer two key questions in your mind about your finances –

1) Are you OK? Do you have enough money to achieve your goals?

2) How should you plan your investments to ensure your goals are met?

Why?

Through financial planning, you can secure your future with certainty. A financial plan takes the guesswork out of the equation by laying out your cashflows in detail in front of you. By understanding the plan for your life, you can be confident that all your decisions are elevating your goals.

When?

There are 5 key financial stages in everyone’s life. You start working after completing your education, get married, have children, establish yourself in your career and lastly retire. Everyone, regardless of their stage of life, needs a financial plan. However, as you go through the various stages, your goals evolve and therefore requirements of a financial plan are different at each stage. For instance, when you start your career, elements of a financial plan that are more crucial are budgeting for savings and wealth accumulation. As you have children, goals on their education and marriage expenses need to be factored in your plan. Lastly, when you retire, capital preservation takes centre stage and you start thinking about leaving behind your money to your beneficiaries.
